Rebecca has been photographing images that reflect her love of light and a desire to create a balance between subtle moods and dramatic contrasts for decades. As the year 2000 was approaching, she found herself caught between the new digital format and the increasing interest in the photographic methods used in the 1800’s. In 1999 she began to hand print photographs using a method from the 1840’s called cyanotype, a printing process that uses sunlight to develop the image, making each one unique. Since then, Rebecca has dedicated herself to alternative photography and more recently has included iPhoneography in her portfolio, a 21st century method using the cell phone and apps to offer a new visual experience to the viewer.
“I look for moments to capture a mood that takes the viewer to a reflective place of beauty and quiet mystery.”
